The Varsity Field Hockey team, under the coaching of Donna Kern, finished their season with a 10-7-1 record. The girl’s season got off to a slow start, with a 0-3 record, but they soon bounced back with five consecutive wins. The pace was set by Maria Wilson, with 19 goals and 5 assists. Defensively, co-captain Donna MacGilliv- ray, Jill Kenny, Kim Perkins and Karen Robinson were outstanding. In addition, Senior Carolyn Pit- tis put forth a sterling performance in the goal, with 109 saves on the season. Five out of the starting 11 made the All-State Team, with Maria Wilson and Julie Casagrande heading the offen­ sive team, and Jill Kenny, Carolyn Pittis and Don­ na MacGillivray rounding out the defensive team.
With the loss of only a few key players to gradu­ ation, next season looks very promising. “This year the team worked very hard and certainly our record showed it” , commented Kenny.
