Football Charges To Third State Title
What makes a team able to go undefeated, on top of winning the Independent State Title for the third consecutive year? Ac­ cording to Head Coach Chuck Nelson, it was “ an explosive offense and hardnosed defense. What it comes down to is balance.” And balance is what the Rams had,
between offense, defense and coaching staff.
A reflection of the team strength is in the choice of six of the Varsity Gridmen for the All Prep Team. John Skolka was named All Prep quarterback, Brian Roach and Dean DeSantis offensive halfbacks, John Buza offensive tackle, and Bill Wertz defensive linebacker. Coach Nelson concluded, “ Our kids did a tremendous job, and as the Junior Team was also un­ defeated we look toward another outstanding year.”
