 GYMNASTICSI
2.
This year was an unfortunate one for the gymnastic team. The team’s loss of last year's seniors and the knee injury suffered by Roxane Brown, the team ’s highest scorer, proved to be major problems. These setbacks resulted in a 1-3 record.
But the team is looking forward to next year. They are eagerly expecting the addition of new competitors. Com bined with the improved skills and continued hard work of the present gymnasts, 1978 should be a winning year for the team. Coach Helen Sjursen commented, “ Monika
Kowleski rates close behind Roxane. And Laurie Yoder is working hard towards becoming an all-around gym nast.” Captain Maureen Conti summed up the optimism of the team when she said, “ Although this year’s season wasn’t too good, next year should be fantastic with a lot of new and old good gymnastic competitors.”
