Soccer Record Slips Below .500 For The First Time In 5 Years
Losing seven of last year's starting team to graduation, Varsity Soccer faced a tough schedule in somewhat crippled form. Coach Howard Freeman remarked that, “Though we played well at times, we were unfortunately hampered with the inability to put the ball in the net.’’
Charles Price and Greg Ashton were the key offensive men being backed up by Bob Arends at center halfback and John Pearson and Guy Donatelli at the fullback
positions. This combination led to some “very good wins against Peddie and Woodbridge,’’ according to Coach Freeman. However, it was not enough to earn the team a record better than 4-9-1.
