Young Team Advances to Semi-Finals in State Tourney.
The Girls Varsity Basketball Team had a very good season de spite a 5-6 record. For the first time in many years, the team reached the semi-finals of the “ B” division tournament. They were able to defeat a tough Morristown-Beard squad but unfort unately fell prey to Neuman Prep in the semi-finals.
“ The girls learned a great deal this year and improved greatly. They really worked well as a team and I have high hopes for next year,” remarked Coach Everett Newcomb as he reflected on the season. Of particular note were leading scorer, Eloise Cord- asco and most valuable player, Roxane Brown. Except for co captain Jeanne Middleton, the entire team will return next year.
