Varsity Mermen Come Up Short Against Stiff Competition
I
The Varsity Swimming Team, traditionally the strongest winter sports team, was hurt terribly by the graduation of key swimmers and a lack of new seniors to replace them. Even so, the mermen posted an admirable 4-6 record against schools, some of which were four times the size of Wardlaw- Hartridge. Both Captain Roger Salvati and Zoltan Szabo were consistent win ners in their events. Strong performances were also turned in by the diving team of John LeFever and Linda Baird. The high point of the season came in the state meet where the team came from behind and grabbed fourth place.
