Tennis Anticipates Successful Season
This year’s Varsity Tennis team has a chance for an excellent season. The team has only lost one of last year’s lettermen and returns with a number of new members. Paul Williams will be playing first singles with Charles Price at second singles and Warren Isaacs at third. After the previous year’s 9-5 record Coach Jim Wise feels that only Pingry and Newark Academy present serious challenges to an undefeated season.
The girls team is not as promising, unfor tunately, having lost four of last year’s team and returning with only two seasonal players. Coaching the team is Mr. Peter Nestler, who offered his services to allow Miss Jachim to coach lacrosse. Coach Nestler remarked, “ We have a young team with little varsity experience, however, many of the girls have been playing at the club level.’’
