Varsity Club
Mr. Torborg with Varsity Clubbers
The 1974-75 Varsity Club has seen as much action as the varsity teams themselves. This year's club was fortunate to be advised by two top-notch men. Mr. Jeff Torborg, former professional baseball player, served as Wardlaw's Athletic Director and opened up many opportunities tothe club and school.
After he left to become an assistant coach with the Cleveland Indians, Mr. Evan Pe terson took over as Athletic Director and club advisor. He was equally enthusiastic in dealing with club and athletic affairs.
One of the unusual fund raising projects undertaken by the club included a basket ball contest between the Wardlaw faculty and a team composed of professional base ball players. As always, halftime between athletic events was never without refresh ments with the club concession stands running at full tilt.
This year the Varsity Club was most ably served by John VanNess, president; Chip Harris, vice president; Jeff Gibson, secretary; and Roy Childers, treasurer.
