Wardlaw's band finally came into its own this year as one of Wardlaw's strongest extra curricular activities. James E. Mobley, in his first year at Wardlaw, directed the biggest and most versatile band yet seen on a Wardlaw stage.
At the Christmas carol service in Decem ber, Wardlaw audiences responded enthu siastically to a program of carols and popular music. Featured was a woodwind quartet. The spring concert presented light popular music. A number of quartets and duets were featured.
An innovation this year was solo night, at which most accomplished musicians were given an opportunity to show off their virtuosity.
