HARTRIDGE VS. PLAINFIELD HOCKEY CLUB
On November fifth, we played the Plainfield Hockey Club, our first outside game of the season and all the more momentous because it was the first played under our excellent new coach.
It began in great style with a large audience of parents and friends as well as the school and an official photographer—Mr. Ivins. During the first half our team had difficulty organizing itself, and the opposing team made three goals. The second half was scoreless, with hard p'aying on both sides.

THE KENT PLACE HOCKEY GAME
Our annual game with Kent Place was played on November fifteenth. The day was cloudy and cold but invigorating for the players. Our opponents arrived about two'thirty with a large crowd of spectators.
The starting whistle blew at three o’clock, and the team began the game deter mined to win if possible. Encouraged by the cheers and enthusiasm of the school, the team fought hard and succeeded in making a goal. The first half ended with the score
1-0 in our favor. We were determined to win the game, but the Kent Place girls fought harder than ever in the second half and succeeded also in making a goal, tying the score.
Although we made every effort to score again, we were not able to do so, and the game ended in a tie of PI.
The Kent Place team was able to stay and enjoy the delicious buns and cocoa in the Main House after the game.
We were happy that this year we had succeeded in tying Kent Place, as in the years past we have often been defeated, but we wish most heartily for a complete victory next year.
