 Inter-Class Basket-Ball
"J'his is the first year that we ha\’e played inter-class games in basket ball. When Miss Shaw suggested it, we all thought it would be great
fun, and could hardly wait for the first game which was played on Decem ber 14, between the Sophomores and Freshmen. Practically none of the Freshmen had ever played before, and though they worked their hardest
•:hey were beaten, 40 to 6.
The second game, between the Juniors and Sophomores, was very ex
citing, the teams being about c\enly matched. The Sophomores were beaten by one point. 7Te final score was i2 to ii. The Seniors then de
feated the Juniors, 42 to 8, and the Sophomores, 40 to 12.
The fifth game was between the Freshmen and the Suh-Freshmen.
In spite of their hard work, the Freshmen were beaten, 26 to 16, and the Sub-Freshmen gained their first and only victory, for in the next two
games they were beaten by the Sophomores, 23 to 13, and by the Juniors, 40 to 30, and later by the Seniors, 40 to o, in the funniest game of all, where the ball hardly ever got to the Sub-Freshmen’s forwards at all.
In an evenly matched game the Freshmen beat the Juniors, 36 to 28. In the game between the Freshmen and Seniors, the Seniors won, 40 to 12. The most thrilling game in the series was the one between the Juniors
and Sophomores for second place. After the first half the Juniors were one point ahead of the Sophomores. Almost the whole second half was played with the score even, until the Juniors made a point on a foul, and gained second place, with the score 15 to 14.
The Seniors, having beaten all the other teams, hold first place; the Juniors are second; the Sophomores third; and the Freshmen and Sub- Freshmen are tied for fourth. We all congratulate the Seniors on their
victory.
