With both teams lined up in eager expectation. Miss Shaw blew her whistle shrilly, and the game was on. \Gil Deane made the first basket; we made the next, and then VGil Deane scored one point on a foul. In the next play Catherine Stockwell and Zoe I'erry did some formidable guarding, and Saidee Sandford soon scored for us. At this point Vail
Deane began to use the splendid side-center passing that was to work havoc with out team. However, we resisted strongly, and though the ball Hew over the court, and Miss Sheare made some plucky attempts at
a basket, nothing exciting happened. Each side made several unsuc­ cessful throws and the teams seemed quite evenly matched. Then Vail Deane rallied, fought hard, and captured the next two baskets, triumphantly
ending the first half. The score was announced as i i — 4 in favor of Vail Deane.
In the second half. Miss Wilbur, of Vail Deane, was referee, and the teams changed baskets. As the whistle blew. Miss Morey, Vail
Deane’s side-center, seized the ball, and once more clever passing stood ^^aIl Deane In good stead. Then Vail Deane made a foul, and Saidee
Sandford scored the point for Hartridge. A moment later Alice Joy and Saidee Sandford made three more baskets for us. Then our oppo­
