nents recommenced their wonderful passing, and soon scored. The next point was made by our team, and was closely followed by one for'Vail
Deane, and the game became fast and furious. Catherine Van Natta and Kathleen Millay leaped high, and the little Vail Deane side-center did some brilliant playing. Jacksonia Watt replaced Catherine Van Natta at sicie-center tow'ards the end of the game. Vail Deane made some truly beautiful throws. Just before the whistle blew, Saidee Sandford secured the last point of the game for us.
The final score was 23— 16 in favor of Vai 1 D eane, and the \'ail Deane girls and their coach are to be congratulated on their good work. Our team had the disadvantage of not having played together very long,
but thanks to Miss Shaw, every one of our girls played well.

SONG
(Tune— “ I didn’t raise my boy to be a soldier.” )
We didn’t raise our team to have it beaten; We brought it up to play at basketball!
Who dares to say we ever miss a basket ?
h'or Hartridge we’re good players, one and all!
Though Vail Deane team may try its strength against us.
And some say pride goes down before a fall Yet we will win the day,
And for Hartridge we will say,
“ We didn’t raise our team to have it beaten!”
