On Thursday, November i8, the greatest athletic event of the fall term loomed large in the sight of all connected with Hartridge, for it was the day of the hockey game with Kent Place. iMiss Hartricige had pro vided three large buses, two for those at Oakwood and one for the team,
which with the cars of the day scholars formed a considerable line travel ing to Summit.
We arrived in a slight drizzde, which however lasted only a short time, so^hat by half past three we were assembled with the supporters of Kent Place on one side of the field and those of Hartridge on the other. After some lusty cheering from both sides the game began. The weather for some days had not been favorable for hockey grounds, and as a result
the held was a sea of mud and conse'juently ultra slippery, a fact which we soon discovered as we watched members of both teams making Hercu lean efforts to run, which ended inevitably in long slides, d'he ultimate
score was 3-1 in favor of Kent Place. F.veryone agreed that it was an exciting event but that it gave no opportunity for a demonstration of form on either side.
After the game was over we went to the main building of Kent Place, where we met a great many of the girls, and were delightfully enter
tained before our ride home.
