Pleister. d'he hockey field was filled with crowds of spectators, composed largely of friends and relatic’es of the contestants. Jumping, shot putting, hurdling^ and obstacle races were the most important events, and the dexterous execution of these was interesting to watch. Iixcitement ran high towards the end, when the scorings of Florence and Flizabeth proved to be identical, and the class relay race, in which both took part, became
the crucial event, d'riumphing in this, b'lorence Meeker was pronounced winner of the Field Day. Because this was the third year that she had held the highest score in the b'ield Day exercises, she was presented with the silver cup as a reward of her i7ierit. She had the honor of being the first girl to receive this prize. Ruth Mooney lived up to her
record of the year before and retained
her title of winner of the Fdementary b'ield Day.
