The girls varsity field hockey
has had a tough final season, but enthusiasm has been high.
Coached by Mrs. Linda Bevelander and led by two senior captains, Jamie Rogers and M eghan M ullins, the team has played their best. The team was "short-handed” all season, and low participation forced it to play with eight girls instead of eleven.
The team played well early on in the season against Purnell, win ning 3-0. Sophomore Stephanie Co scored two goals in the first period. In the second period, sophomore Aliya Latif scored. The offense dominated the game. The defense played strong to keep the ball away from the goal, and two shots by Purnell were allowed.
Miss Bevelander said she "gives the team credit for playing short- handed. They never let up." The team has learned to become better as a whole by playing enthusiasti cally.
