The varsity volleyball team served up enthusiasm with a new coaching team.
The girls were led by the watch ful eye of their new coach Mr. John Walker. He mixed his knowl edge of the sport with the leader ship of the two senior captains, Beth Lebowitz and M aryellen Held. "Their leadership helps make the team stronger," com mented Coach Walker.
"Each of the girls on the team has a certain skill that she excels in," says Coach Walker. The team spikers are Captain Held and ju nior Shahzadi Perez. The setters are Leboritz and new freshman Jen Allman.
The new offensive formation the team used consisted of the girls playing with a 6-2 rotation, which includes two setters. This enabled Captain Lebowitz to spike. "They'll get better and more acquainted with it as the season progresses," said Coach W alker.
