The staff of this year’s Maroon and Gold was tempted to make many in novations in its 1973 production; but, on reflection, it came to the conclusion that there is no inherent value in change for its own sake; that there is virtue in tradition and stability. In other words, there is little need for a yearbook to move in a radical direction. Its real job is to reflect the change which is taking place in the life of the school, for if any school is to survive, it must be open to new ideas and a fresh approach to its academic and extracurricular activities.
As the reader thumbs through the pages of this volume, it is the staffs hope that Wardlaw’s openness to innovation will be detected in this record of the school's life during its 1972-1973 year.
