Aruba’s National ARUBA’S national softball selection is par-
selection battling major
South-American players ticipating in a championship in South-America
organized by CONSURSA which is the South-
American softball confederation.
Aruba continued their intense
training to prepare for the
CONSURSA championship
after winning a silver medal in
a championship between the
islands in March that took place
in Bahamas.
Aruba Softball League’s vision is to keep their
selection in practice by participating in compe-
titions that take place in the region; this gives
our batters an opportunity to better themselves
because they regularly compete against good
pitchers in our region. This will better their
chances of qualifying in 2017 to participate in
the Central American and Caribbean Games
that will take place in July 2018 in Baranquilla,
Colombia.
Despite not having enough resources ASB is
working hard towards achieving their goals.
Aruba will have to play a total of 10 games
in this championship which will take place in
Colombia.
On the first day of the CONSURSA champion-
ship Panama beat Aruba 4 to 1.
This game was 0-0 for 5 innings but Panama
rallied 4 points in the 6th inning and Aruba man-
aged to earn 1 point in the 7th inning.
On the same day Aruba went against Argentina
which is a very strong team. Early in the game
Aruba lands 1 point and earns their second point
in the 4th inning.
In the 6th inning Aruba rallies
their hits thanks to Eldrick
Dijkhoff, Franco Wouters and
Dijendrick Croes which l
ands Aruba their first victory
which is against Argentina.
Aruba won 5 to 0.
The championship just started and Aruba still
has many games ahead of them. This champion-
ship will surely help Aruba develop their level
and help batters to get accustomed and adapt to
high speed and lots of ball movements. Aruba is
currently developing and bettering themselves
to compete in the region.
