Boiling Dam

Water is a premium
for us who live in Aruba.
With no fresh water aqui-
fer we need to desalinate
ocean water for our fresh
water. To add to the chal-
lenges of growing a tropi-
cal garden rain falls on our

Driving by a dam in the
blazing sun is a pleasant
scene. Many times we
look at the birds taking
advantage of this endow-
ment and wonder why the
water in this heat does not
boil away. Looking at the
dam and the arroyo that
feeds it my thoughts turn
to the many patients that
have problems with their
body’s dam, the urinary
bladder.
The urinary system
is sterile and bacteria-free
and should provide no
problems for the urinary
bladder. Unfortunately, uri-
nary tract infections (UTI)
are a common health
problem affecting millions
