13 Food & Drink Being an Entrepreneur is HARD! Often small business
owners are struggling to run their business and grow it. To
add to the struggle, advertising, marketing and sales is
expensive and a point of weakness and frustration. I have
experienced many pain points myself when starting my
15 Self-Care business and one day, out of frustration, I created a meetup
“Houston Small Business Resources” to connect with and
help small business owners in their journey.
19 Experiences In the spirit of the meetup, which continues to grow, I am
looking forward to broadening the support of Houston area
small business owners through this publication, online
directory, social media and video!
21 Home Having worked as a contractor overseas for four years in the
early 2000s and seeing the life our soldiers live in service to
our wonderful country, I wanted to highlight Veteran owned
businesses as well. The transition back to civilian world can
be extremely difficult for contractors who haven’t gone
23 Real Estate through the trauma of war, and it is often so much harder
for our Veterans. So, it is even more important to support
our Veterans that have come back home and are working to
build a life and business.
25 All Things With SB Lokali, we are taking “shop local” to a whole
different level! I welcome you to be a part of this city-wide
Mechanical initiative and join in supporting our local Small and Veteran
Owned businesses! -Jenny Justice-Newmyer
