Queensland’s Reef
The train whisks you away into cruisey days all along the Great Barrier Reef, the world’s largest living marvel.
There are experiences you can only enjoy on a train
It’s the little things about train travel that stay with you The way people unwind, relaxing in each other’s company and marvelling at the stunning scenery An interlude when commitments are left behind and the excitement of what lies around the bend keeps you focused on the moving lens of your panoramic window
Beautiful Queensland, with its spectacular landscapes and wonderfully diverse destinations, rides high on the worldwide wish list of places to visit Discovering it by train is the most enjoyable way of experiencing all the holiday you can take, absorbing and appreciating every nuance along the way
One of nature’s greatest creations, it’s a uniquely beautiful playground where daydreams become realities and the daily grind trades places with tropical indulgences
Idling along the coastline on your way to an up close view of the reef, you can stop off to meander through World Heritage-listed rainforest, past cascading waterfalls and through
the awe-inspiring Barron Gorge on the famed Kuranda Scenic Railway Take to the air for your return journey, flying above the treetops on the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway
Tropical holiday options also include lounging on a private pontoon on the Outer Reef, where you can snorkel
or scuba dive in the exotically blue Coral Sea
Test your skills against some of the mightiest fighting fish in the ocean, on the reef just off Cairns Or perhaps find your breath coming a little faster when you get eye-to-eye with other creatures, on a wildlife and crocodile expedition
The world’s largest coral reef aquarium is an experience not to be missed Or you can catch the ferry and slip into island time; many a tranquil gem sits waiting in the crystalline waters of the reef
Why not spend leisurely days a oat, gazing at marine life from another world? Or simply enjoying the catch of the day when it appears on your plate
