He remembered that his mother often shouted, "Go away mice, you eat the whole pantry!" Teddy decided Mouse liked to eat everything.
He walked past the brook babblling through the forest. "I see red berries," he muttered to himself, "there, next to the wide fallen tree with its fairy benches."
This was where he had found his book. The place looked just the same and the sunlight was still shining through the green leaves. It smelled wonderful in the big forest and Teddy sniffed the fresh healthy air with a deep breath, and smiled up at the ancient tree that had given him his book.
The tree had grown old and so heavy that it had crashed to the ground during the last autumn storm. Now the tree served as a shelter for squirrels, hedgehogs, worms and insects, and of course these attracted the birds who all came to eat a lovely fresh dinner.
