Read the questions that follow on the problem solution essay below on impetigo.
It is mentioned in British Journal of Dermatology that illness that directly affects the skin is the fourth
most frequent cause of all human disease, affecting around 1.9 billion people which is almost one-third of the
world’s population. Among them, impetigo is a common contagious skin infection which usually occurs in
children aged two to six. The disease usually appears as red sores on the face, expecially around a child’s nose
and mouth, as well as on hands and feet. Although, the disease might cause some problems, there are several
solutions to it.
Impetigo can cause reddish sores on the skin. The sores are often clustered around
the nose and lips. They quickly grow into blisters, ooze and burst, and then form a yellowish
crust. The sores can be itchy and occasionally painful. After the crust phase, they form red
marks that fade without leaving scars. Impetigo might cause discomfort because it may
involve swollen glands in the area of the outbreak or a fever.
Despite the problems caused by impetigo, there are solutions to the disease.
