If the maternal and paternal

gene sends contradictory

instructions, then the animal will

not be albino but it will carry a

recessive gene which may

contribute to instances of

albinism in its offspring.

A recessive gene will only be

activated if both mating

partners carry a recessive gene,

or if one happens to be albino.
