P. 3
Ondine’s Curse is a rare and
fatal respiratory disorder that
causes a person to stop
breathing when they are asleep.
The disorder received its name
in 1962 when two doctors,
Severinghaus and Mitchell, used
it in reference to three of their
patients. The name, Ondine’s
Curse, meanwhile is a direct
reference to an old Germanic
myth.
