 to freedom up North. A lot of  the




 slaves that followed these routes the



 freedom were those who boarded



 the North states such as Kentucky,




 Virginia and Maryland. A lot of



 these routes would stretch out



 Northward of  up to Ohio, Indiana,   which allows local governments to




 Iowa, Pennsylvania, and even into   extradite escaped slaves from within



 the New England’s. As numbers   the borders of  a free states and




 of  escapees increased new laws   bring them back to their point of



 were put in place to recapture these   origin. More harsh laws were put in




 runaway slaves. The Fugitive Slave   place with the Fugitive Slave Act of



 Acts, was the first act put in place   1850 which enforced these laws and
