            of  the products of  refining oil –



            kerosene. Before oil, America and the




            rest of  the world was in darkness



            once nighttime strikes. The saying



            the night comes when no man can




            work held true as darkness ruled



            during the night. But with oil, the




            kerosene lamps were invented and



            Americans could have street lights




            and lamps powered by kerosene.



            Darkness no longer ruled during the
