(now called standard oil) produced
the highest quality kerosene. This
not only made the rich men invest
in his company but also made the
public want Rockefeller’s oil and
not just any kerosene. That was
how Rockefeller was not only able
to get the much needed investments
to make 60 barrels a day but he
soon became the richest man in
America. However, the good times
were short-lived as the railway
companies soon decided to try and
curtail Rockefeller’s growing power.
