During spring, a store of honey had
been found in a hollow tree in the
woods. Both the Wasps and the
Bees declared that the treasure was
theirs. Both sides got in a heated
argument because neither of them
wanted to forfeit what they claimed
to be theirs. When it seemed that
the affair couldn’t be settled
without a fierce battle, they agreed
to call a judge. They brought the
Hornet, who was the chief judge of
the supreme court in this part of
the woods.
