         southernmost tip of  what was once




         the Inca Empire. The Inca Empire



         was centered in Peru to the north,



         with its capitals and cities in that




         country, but it extended south to this



         area of  Chile. Maule is also said to



         be Chile’s most rural region.









         Further south we come to the region




         of  Bio Bio, named after the river



         Bio Bio, which also includes one




         of  Chile’s most important cities,



         that of  Concepcion. The region
