Listen and circle the words you hear.
W I'm so lucky. I just found the purse I (lost/left) on the bus this morning.
M That is pretty lucky. (This/Last) year when I was traveling in Europe, I lost my wallet.
W Really? What (could/did) you do?
M Well, actually I was pickpocketed. The thief stole all my money, my (credit/debit)
cards, even my passport!
W Oh, (no/my)! What did you do?
M I had to ask the hotel to call the embassy. They (left/lent) me some money, which I
repaid as soon as I got back (to/in) the U.S.
M I'm so (bad/mad). I left my English essay on the bus this morning.
W Did you call the bus (driver/station)?
M Yes, I did. I spoke to the Lost & Found department, but no one had (turned/brought)
it in. My teacher is going to be (really/very) mad at me.
W Did you save it on (your/a) computer?
M No, I finished it on a computer in the library. Hopefully the teacher will (grant/give)
me an extension.
W Have you ever had something (bad/good) happen to you?
M Not that I can (remember/recall). I guess I have been pretty lucky.
W Well, just last (weekend/week), I got into a car accident.
M What happened?
W A driver ran a red light and hit my car. I got a pretty (big/bad) cut on my leg and a
couple of bruises. Other than that, though, I am (alright/okay).
M How was the other (passenger/driver)?
W Oh, he is much (worse/better). I think he is still in the hospital.
