Listen and circle the words you hear.
W1 Do you like our (new/old) neighbor Leon?
W2 He (sounds/seems) nice. Why, do you not like him?
W1 He's always coming by our house and asking to (have/borrow) something.
W2 So he just moved in. He probably doesn't have a lot of (stuff/things) set up yet.
W1 Yes, but he comes over too much. He has also been (slow/fast) in returning items.
It is very annoying.
W2 Well, you'll just have to tell him he can't borrow anything else until he returns the
(stuff/things) he has already borrowed.
W1 I just don't want to (offend/offer) him.
M Did you see the new family that moved in (down/across) the street a few days ago?
W Yes. The Browns just moved (in/here) from Colorado. They have two (older/young)
boys and a girl just like us.
M They seem nice, but they sure do make a lot of (racket/noise). Their kids are
always screaming and running around outside. They even (hit/broke) our window
when they were playing baseball outside. They even threw a (rock/Frisbee) at our
window.
W Oh, no. Did it (bounce/break)?
M There's a big crack, but the Browns haven't even (come/stopped) by to apologize.
W That does seem (very/pretty) rude. Maybe we should invite them over for dinner so
we can get to know them better.
W Did you see the (seven/six) cars parked outside on the Davidson's front yard?
M I saw that. They sure do have a lot of cars over there. They even have to park on
the (glass/grass).
W It's (terrible/horrible). All those cars make the neighborhood look terrible.
M I think you are worrying too much about things that don't (concern/involve) you. It's
just some cars outside his house.
W Everyone who sees our neighborhood will think something (weird/strange) or illegal
is happening here.
M Well, I will go (speak/talk) to them, but I still think you are overreacting.
