Internationale de Football
Association, or FIFA,
was founded in Paris in 1904.
Great Britain initially rejected
the authority of this body,
refusing to join and reverting
to its own National Football
Association.
Without the participation of
England, Scotland, Ireland and
Wales, FIFA was getting off to
a rough start.
