Some countries do not have enough water. Instead, they have deserts or dry
land. However, water is actually everywhere. The world is filled with water. Did

you know that most of the Earth’s surface is covered by water? The ocean covers
about 71% of the Earth’s surface. That is around 260 million square kilometers.

The ocean is the biggest body of water in the world. There are several large
oceans on Earth. These are the Arctic Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, Indian Ocean,

Pacific Ocean, and Southern Ocean. There are also several small seas in different
locations. The smallest ocean is the Arctic Ocean. The largest ocean in the world

is the Pacific Ocean. The Pacific Ocean is also the deepest. It is located in the
             middle of the Earth.

The equator runs through both the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean. All of
these oceans and seas are connected to each other. They form one big body of

water, which is called the World Ocean. The World Ocean is composed of salt
water. It makes up a huge part of the world’s total water. The ocean also plays a

big role in the water cycle. Most of the water that falls as rain comes from the
             ocean.

People have not been able to reach most of the bottom of the ocean. The
ocean is very big and deep. That is why most of it has not been seen by anybody.

We still know very little about the ocean. Life under water is very rich. Just like on
land, there are many plants and animals in the ocean. We are still trying to learn

             more about the ocean today.
