Disciplinary procedures
• Potential disciplinary matters are investigated by the Professional
Ethics Executive Committee (PEEC) of the AICPA Ethics Division.
• If a violation is found, PEEC determines if it will
– offer a public settlement to the member,
– issue a confidential letter of corrective action, or
– present the case before the Joint Trial Board.
• The Joint Trial Board hears and determines disciplinary action for
violations of the bylaws and ethics codes of the AICPA.
• Members can be expelled, suspended, admonished, or required to
perform additional actions.
