• Exceptions to the applicability of VS section 100:

– Attest engagements defined by the “Independence Rule” (AICPA,
Professional Standards, ET sec. 1.200.001)

– There’s no application of valuation approaches and methods

– Internal use assignments for employers

– Engagements for economic damages without value estimate

– Computations without valuation methods and approaches

– When it is not practical to obtain or use relevant information, thereby

preventing the application of valuation methods and approaches
