7.2. Electronic Personal Safety System (ePSS) [Thiruvananthapuram]

ePSS is an integrated solution for personal security where instant police assistance is provided
to a person in extreme distress or feeling high threat to safety. The system basically focuses
on helping women and children when they need immediate help.

An electronic Personal Safety Device (ePSD) is a device to send a distress message on a single
click during emergency to provide timely help to the person in distress and thus reduce the
crime rates.

Key Components:

• ABHAYAM– VICTIM is a client side mobile application
which is used to track user while in trouble.

• ABHAYAM– RESCUER is a separate mobile application
which can track victims by rescuers/server. If
ABHAYAM message is received, it will open the
ABHAYAM -Rescuer application window along with
alert sound, location information on map. On each
message, it updates the valid victim(s) with latest
location.

• SOS: To track the user and keep on sending SMS to rescuers including Server.

• Track Me: To track the user and keep on sending SMS to rescuers (Excluding server).
