4.1. Red Light Violation Identification System [Thiruvananthapuram]

iRIDS (Intelligent Red Light Violation Identification System is a state-of-the-art device that
captures images and videos of red light violations with the help of vehicle sensors, cameras,
and controller hardware installed at busy road intersections.
Unlike the other red light violation devices, iRIDS will provide vehicle and traffic signal in a
single image. Not only the stills, the iRIDS also given video footage of violations. A three-
second video and three progressive snapshots recorded by iRIDS will be enough to catch red
light jumpers. It also helps enforcement agencies in giving proof that could not be challenged
in court.
In iRIDS, the sensor, camera and controller work in a loop configuration. The sensor will detect
vehicle presence from loops and trigger camera, which capture image of violated vehicles. It
also capture image of the number plate. Using RTO database connectivity, the iRIDS could
issue ticket with vehicle owners name and address. The device will work even in low light.

4.2. Urban Traffic Control System [Thiruvananthapuram]

Urban Traffic Control System (UTCS) is a microprocessor based Road Traffic Control System with
Fixed Time and Demand Actuated Control. The UTCS can be used as an independent system at
isolated intersections or as part of a synchronized chain of controllers for coordinated control of
traffic.
The UTCS supports both cabled and cable less (CLF) synchronization. The controller has a LCD
display with LED back lighting, which gives very good visibility at outdoors.
