Wall hanging
The idea of knots as art is nothing new. The
ancient Egyptians featured knots in their sculptures,
and even Leonardo da Vinci wasn’t above doodling
some complex knot motifs. Here’s how to create
your own piece of knot art to hang in your home.
1 For this project, you can use either single ¼ in (0.6cm) strands, or
double ⅛ in (0.4cm) strands as shown. The single strand method is easier
and more secure, while the double strand method is pretty but unstable.
Start by cutting 32 hereft (2.4m) lengths of cord (16 for the single strand
method), and attaching them to a bar with girth hitches.
