Tie 1: Four in hand

This is the classic tie knot used by schoolchildren

and office workers the world over. And it does the
job well enough – though it is a bit lopsided and

rather on the narrow side. Use it to get into practice
for the more interesting tie knots to follow…

1 Loop the tie around your collar with the wide end slightly lower than the

narrow end. Pass the wide end over and under the narrow end.
