Two traditional sailor’s knots, the diamond knot

and the wall knot combine to make this distinctive
bone-shaped toy. Your dog will love it, and you’ll

have the satisfaction of channelling hundreds of
years of knot tying. Woof! Woof!

1 You’ll need four 4ft (1.2m) lengths (0.5–0.6cm) rope for this. To

start with, tie a diamond knot in the end of two of your lines. Make an

overhand loop in the end of the first line, then pass the second line over

the loop and under the standing part.
