Adjustable loop
This may look similar to the ichabod and gibbet
knots, but the adjustable loop differs in that most of
the turns are taken around the standing part alone.
While this can be very effective with small stuff, such
as cords and lanyards, it should be avoided when
using thicker line.
1 Put a bight in the end of the line, and take a turn around the standing
part as if tying an overhand knot (page here).
