       Fundamentals of Painting 834 10-12 1 .5
        This semester course introduces students to classical and contemporary painting techniques and concepts with emphasis on the understanding of its formal language and the fundamentals of artistic expression. Painting from still-life, landscape, realism, and various painting styles will be explored. Color theory, linear perspective, compositional structure, figure/ground relationships, visual perception, spatial concepts, and critical thinking skills will be emphasized. We will study and research major painting styles and movements in art history.

        Contemporary Design 836 10-12 1 .5
        This semester course is designed to help anyone interested in learning more about modern and contemporary art. In this course, you will explore a variety of art media and techniques as well as modern design concepts. Through a variety of resources, videos, slideshows, readings, and activities, you will be exposed to contemporary art while doing a variety of multimedia projects reflecting modern art trends.

        Sculpture 835 10-12 1 .5
        This semester course is designed for students to discover the connections between sculpture and other art disciplines as they relate specifically to three-dimensional art. Students will create sculptural and functional forms using additive, subtractive and fabrication techniques while learning how sculpture has played a significant role in the development of cultures throughout the world.

        Partners in Art 837 10-12 1 .5
        This semester course will be composed of students in 10th - 12th grades. Some of the students in this class will have various needs that restrict their ability to participate in a typical Art class. As a result of these needs, these students would benefit from a partner approach to Art class. This course would benefit students who want a career in ​education and/or social work​. All students in this class will work together to fulfill the expectations and requirements of Art class. Students will meet six times in a 6-day cycle.
RECOMMENDATION: Student must have all of the following: ● B or better in Art class the previous year.

        Photography I 856 10-12 1 .5
        Photography is designed for the student who has a sincere interest in traditional black and white photography as well as digital imaging. This course is designed for the beginning photographer as well as those who wish to sharpen previously learned skills. The course is ideal for the student who wishes to pursue photography as a potential career. Students will have access to a fully equipped darkroom. The course is approximately 35% traditional photography and 65% digital imaging.​Other related areas of study will include types of cameras, camera nomenclature, basic camera settings and handling, B&W films and photographic papers, printmaking, photographic composition, print mounting, types of photography and careers in photography, studio lighting, safety in photography, and photo history.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS: Students must provide their own 35mm camera and film as well as have their own digital camera (DSLRs are preferred). ​Click here for video description
