Welcome to Scottsdale and our 21st Annual Summit!
It brings me great pleasure to write this note in anticipation of our first in-person meeting since the pandemic.
With historically strong registration numbers leading up to the Summit, it’s clear our members are as excited
as I am to once again meet and network. Given the state of the market and uncertainty that lies ahead, the
Summit is a great forum to learn how your peers not just weather the storm but thrive in these turbulent seas.
For 21 years, Target Markets has been the platform for program administrators and the carriers that trade in
the program space to network, learn from each other, and forge partnerships that have allowed the program
business sector to thrive. This meeting is set to be our largest gathering of program professionals ever
including a record number of program administrators, carriers, service providers and now reinsurance
brokers to help facilitate your program placements. The team at TMPAA has organized a robust agenda
that will keep you engaged and informed:
You can look forward to several thought-provoking sessions and speakers including:
• Our review of the 2021 State of the Program Business Study – Discover how program business is doing
and what the trends and benchmarks are for your peers. We’ve assembled a terrific panel of your fellow
program administrators, carriers and Advisen’s expert, Jim Blinn.
• Maximizing Compensation and the Value of Your Business. Kelly Drouillard, Live Oak Bank and
Matt Hazelett, RPS Signature Programs will lead a discussion on how to maximize compensation
with your carriers while minimizing tax implications as well as focusing on key performance indicators
that drive the value of your agency.
• State of Ransomware for Businesses and the Insurance Industry. A timely discussion on an
active and misunderstood exposure in our business led by John Colis, Euclid Program Managers along
with Robert Walker and Michael Kar of Wilson Elser.
• Anatomy of a Fronted Program – Learn how Program Administrators can leverage expanding fronting
options. Tom Gillingham from NFP will lead the panel discussion with Brian Cohen, Arden Programs;
Desmond Bohan, BMS Re; and Jerome Breslin from Clear Blue Insurance Group.
• Making the Most of Your Marketing Dollars. If you’ve ever wondered if you’re maximizing your marketing
spend, this is the session for you. With discussions led by marketing experts Emily Hathcoat, RPS; Jim
Flynn, ONEFIRE; and Rich Look from Vertibrands.
Our guest speakers will include insightful and thought-provoking sessions with Carla Harris, Vice Chairman,
Managing Director and Senior Client Advisor at Morgan Stanley and V.J. Dowling, Chairman of Dowling and
Partners Securities.
On behalf of the TMPAA Advisory Board and the entire Target Markets team, I hope you find this meeting to be
an engaging and beneficial experience and we’re looking forward to a productive session together.
Sincerely,
Christopher L. Pesce
