                                                                        highly regulated in their composition but
                                                                        some compositions are banned for some
                                                                        areas . oil based muds and synthetic mud
                                                                        have water and it is usually brine with
                                                                        bentonite and barite for viscosity and weight
                                                                         and other ingredients to help lubricate the
                                                                        drill.
