She flew so quickly with her
baby back to the nest,
yet within a few short days, ’I’ll never let her
the li�le bird was mended out of my sight!’
with just some good rest.
But in that time the mother
became something other as
she looked to the moon
and said:
As the fear had changed
her feathers half red, all
because of the fright.
