Before Beginning Work

Parts Inventory

• Inventory all parts on site against what was ordered to limit delays due to missing,
wrong and/or damaged parts.
• Critical parts such as pistons, piston rings, connecting rods, bearings etc. should have
the part numbers verified against the parts book for that engine. The serial number of
the engine block must match the serial number listed on the parts book.

• Any discrepancies shall be brought to the attention of the office immediately.

Tool Inventory
• Inventory and inspect all special tooling to limit delays due to missing or broken tooling.

Refer to the Special Tools TI for the type of engine being overhauled.
• Inspect all rigging equipment such as A-frames, chain hoists, straps, lifting eyes etc. for
any wear or damage.
• Only use clean, calibrated and correct tools for the task being performed.
• Tooling calibration certificates should be up to date and made available for review upon
request

• Refer to the document section for the applicable TI’s and Jenbacher FSM

Supplies Inventory

• Inventory all supplies needed for the job; cleaners, rags, Loctite, Moly Kote, sealants etc.
• See list of approved consumables.

Preparation of the Site

• Clean the area around the engine to avoid debris getting into the engine.
• Clean off and over the engine to avoid debris getting into the engine.
• Have tarps, tape, plastic or magnetic covers etc. to cover the engine.

Documentation Review

• Review all applicable Jenbacher and NES/WES documentation and download all Field

Service Manuals. Refer to the documentation section for links to the TI’s, ST’s, SB’s etc.
