Genome sequencing technologies have uncovered thousands of mutations associated with human diseases. However, it is still challenging to predict the specific effect of any mutation. Taylor’s experiments seek to understand the effects of mutations associated with neuro- developmental disorders, with an emphasis on Autism Spectrum Disorder. He hopes this will allow for better understanding of ASD and possibly lead to life-improving therapeutics.
