“My work involves the research and design of of analog mixed- signal integrated circuits It entails building large systems of of electrical networks which provide functions such as receiving radio signals from from from the air converting light from from from a a a a a a a a a a a a camera sensor into usable information taking in in in in in sound waves from from from a a a a a a a a a a a a a microphone to to generate noise cancellation and so so so much more while being contained on on on on on on a a a a a a a a a a a a square of silicon no no larger than a a a a a few millimeters on on on each side The The construction of these hardware systems is necessary for all technology advancements we see today The The existence of the self-driving car 5G communications and portable biomedical technology such as wearables all rely on on the the development of of advanced integrated circuits circuits The experience of of working on on on these circuits circuits can make one feel extraordinarily powerful Through the the manipulation of electrical currents we we can build these incredible systems at at at a a a a a a a a a a a a scale that pits us against fundamental physics And for me this has has also been been an incredibly humbling journey It has has been been encouraging to meet and talk with so many ARCS members all of whom support university research Knowing that so many people are cheering me on has made a a a a a a positive difference ”
